Vengeful Deeds - The Aftermath

Hey again!

So, Vengeful Deeds is actually a 3-parter - However, for whatever reason Jack only ran it for 2 weekends. As such, I really wanted to get the Part3 in, and West was more than happy to oblige!

Hit the jump for some good ol'fashioned carnage!

Vengeful Deeds - Lets chomp some Khador!

Journal of Maximus

Stuck out here, in the middle of some ghost town. Ransacked, looted. They didn't even leave any meat. Been tasked with delivering some Khador prisoners by Barnabas. Given a Posse for protection, but the way I see it, we don't need it. I am here.

Along the way we picked up an ally. Calls himself Draegyn, says he's headed the same way. Frail, pale, and probably couldn't handle a Fellblade to the face - Figure we'd let him come along and provide backup. Also, can be handy to have a human around for... Diplomatic reasons.

First of Many - Legion Vs Gators!

HAND OF EVERBLIGHT... Err, Finger of Everblight?
Finally got to play a game against Sarah! Figure I may as well chronicle these too, from a perspective of teaching the game.

See, I really like teaching, but teaching methods between games can be very different, entirely depending on the game! And frankly, I feel that I didn't do a super great job of getting Drew (My newbie friend the Cryx player) into the game, and there's a few things about that that I want to address.

Hit the jump for some shoddy batrep pics, and yammering about teaching games!

Because they will kill everybody.

Today was a great day. Firstly, new store! Went to Strategies and was super impressed with the place! Lots of product, clean store, and the staff was super duper friendly. They had 2 large tables for Wargames in the back, but only enough space for about 4 concurrent games. Thankfully, only myself and 3 others showed up for...

Ain't No Party like a Painting Party

CLR on backup vocals

More painting!

Hung out with Sarah and our friend Scott, and did some brush strokes!

Up top we have Kwaak Slickspine, and Gub!

I was terrified of putting the yellow markings on him, as I was super happy with how he looked without them - But I'm really happy with how they turned out!

Skink Raiders!

More painting! As you've probably noticed, I like having a variety of models in my army. Well, here's 2 more!

Zombies Vs Robots!

Buzzsaw smooches!

After my Steamroller performance last Sunday, I decided it'd be good to play Maelok a bit more - He was the caster who got me into the game, and frankly I did terribly with his activation orders last week. I'm sure I could have had a win vs those Mercenaries if I had just used Mortality properly.

Anyways, I sat down against Todd and his CoC again - The same list that JagaJaga went up against the other week!

Unfortunately, I thought I must have written the list down then, but it turns out I didn't... Ah well! I'll have to get it off of him next time we throw down.

These CoC are a nightmare to play against, but I really enjoy playing against Todd, so I'm determined to (eventually) crush their robot guts.

First Steamroller!

Blue Posse! Also featured: My makeshift battle tray. Props to Connection Games for the shelf.

That's right! First tournament of MKIII! And it was a Steamroller!

Y'know, Steamroller?

Well, if you play this game, you'll know that Steamroller is a tournament format where there's zones on the table, and if you control a zone you gain points at the end of each turn - Basically, different scenarios so that people don't just have to focus solely on killing eachother.

If you don't play this game, well - I just explained it, AND it's the thing I've been doing since getting back into MKIII!

Anyways, I got into 3 matches today - Trolls, Mercenaries, and Legion! Also, first time with my new 4th unit of Posse - Blue Posse!

Hit the jump for wicked batreps, angled photos, and my actual handwriting, which is indistinguishable from real chicken scratches!

Gat dang T1000 Ravagores! Git outta mah swamp!

Wait, no, no we're not...

We're Gators!

But we fought some Legion, piloted by Adrien!

Super stoked about this - Legion is the faction I would have picked if I hadn't learned about Maelok and the Gators, so seeing how they play in MKIII was something I've wanted to see for awhile!

Hit the jump to check it out!

I didn't buy a second faction, I swear!

Except I did.

But it's not mine! I'm just holding it for a friend!

Pictured: 2 Carniveans

Someone was selling an army for a good deal, with some staple dudes, and since Sarah expressed an interest in learning the game (And trying Legion) I figured - Hey, why not?

So, we'll keep you posted on how learning Legion goes for her - I'm sure I'll do Battle Reports for even our bitty games.

Oh, guess I'll post the list of what we got:

Down by the River

Fun with Terrain!

Alright! Had a game on Wednesday, against West and Kromac!

There were a couple people there with Legion armies too, but unfortunately I didn't have the time to get games in. Maybe next week!

And check out that Terrain! West said he was fine with extra water, so we dug out a river and he placed it running right through. Super fun!

JagaJaga Versus the Robots

I like to think that if there had been an amicable resolution, then this would have happened.

Got a lot of painting done, and I wanted to test out my new models - So I threw them all together in a jumbled list and gave it a rip against a highly-tuned CoC tournament list!

Gators got smushed

Whoops I Cheated

Hi, I'm Skarath. I can Charge after being Thrown, because I didn't get Knocked Down
Except I can't, because MkIII
MkIII has been great. Freely measuring has been wonderful, Gatorman rebalance/buff has been wonderful, and it's all been good fun.

But taking away the Flying Gators tactic, it hurts. It was hilarious! Chuck a Blackhide down the table!? He Rises, charges the enemy Warlock and/or generally causes disarray by suddenly being a heavy in a backline!? Seems amazing(ly risky)! Fun for the whole delicious family!

So, when I read Skarath and thought that "Can't be knocked down" means he walks away unscathed (well, damaged) from a throw.

I knew this long enough to win a kitchen table match against my buddy Drew, and then after re-checking the rules after I realized...

Quick Painting/Crafty Post

"Too toot" "His hiss"

So, I figure I'll try to always post new minis, for the sake of it. Step-by-step painting tutorials? Maybe later. I ain't good, but giving instructions (and analyzing them) may help me get better.

Robots and Wolves, Oh My!

If you can't win the war, at least wreck a Colossal

Exciting times today! Actually got 2 games in, and NEITHER WERE AGAINST CRYX!

Crazy, right?

Today I got to go up against Convergence of Cyriss (Piloted by Todd of Rain City Hobbies / Toad Painting ) and Circle Oroboros (Piloted by West of... Idunno, he had a Texas hoodie on I think?)

And also - My first win of 2018! Whew! Hit the jump to read all about it - Thrills await!

More Cryx? More Cryx.

"9 Slayers? This will be fun!"

More Cryx it is!

As it shall always be, I'm up against Cryx.

I honestly can't complain too much, though. See, on Sunday, I headed to the store to get some games in, but everyone was playing some other game called Infinity. They're in the middle of a league season, so it's what's popular right now.

Turns out there's no hulking scaly monsters, so I ain't interested.

I killed some time at a nearby anime convention (yes, seriously. Vancouver, amirite?) and then headed back to the store to see if anyone was up for WMH.

Hung around for a bit, saw a lot of Infinity happening, so I was just about to leave when someone approached me - Gareth, from last match!

"Wanna fight more Cryx?"
"Not really, but happy to play!"

First Proper MkIII Game of 2018!

Spoilers - This guy = Bad news

And of course it's against Cryx!

Well, after fantasizing about finally getting some Gators on the table for the last couple months, I finally got a real game in!

Maybe one day I'll play against a force other than Cryx...

Hit the jump to see some horrifying (-ly well painted) spooks chow down on some zombie crocs!

Hasty MKIII Post!

Thanks to a Boxing Week sale, Gators got a fancy new bag!
I'll miss my Ammo Boxes, but this one is SO MUCH LIGHTER.

Why the hasty post?

Because it's late, and I just got home from playing some warm-up games with a friend!

Which friend? Drew! I mentioned him in this post, back in 2016, and we finally got some more games in!

I won't be doing a full batrep here - Mostly because we just did a quick 15 point game to warm up, and then we got through about 75% of a 50 point game - and because tomorrow I'll be gaming all day at Connection Games, and wanted to figure out Blogger tonight so I can crank out a full blog post tomorrow!

Anyways, hit the jump for some pictures and light musings while I figure out formatting!

Done some painting

Did some painting, and found some models to paint!
